Thank you for taking the time to visit our website! To better serve our community, we at Cambodian American Rescue Organization, Inc. will continue our endeavor to develop programs that enhance the lives of individuals.

Objectives: Cambodian American Rescue Organization, Inc. (CARO) is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization founded in 2013 that seeks to inspire, encourage, Cambodian Americans and other minority groups to participate in Social, Cultural (or religious), Educational activities, but also working towards integrating them into mainstream America.

To provide opportunities to its members and other minority groups to participate in Social, Cultural (or religious), and Educational activities that will help to improve the lives of everyone in the community.
To create awareness, inform, educate, support, promote, and advocate on issues of vital interests to Cambodian Americans and other minority groups in the political, social, cultural and economic areas in the community.
To share and enjoy the commonality of experiences and to identify and celebrate the differences among Cambodian Americans.

A Message from the President

The theme for 2016 Cambodian Culture Festival is “Share Our World”

On behalf of the Fall River Cambodian community, we would like to invite you to join us in this celebration. This gathering is a milestone for our community as we advocate for peace and acceptance of diversity. As new paradigms continue to transform us, it has become more important than ever before to connect by sharing, contributing towards the community and advocating for solidarity. We hope that this festival will be a platform for people of all nations to meet and create bonds of everlasting friendship and understanding. This will be a great opportunity for all of us to come together and build a meaningful compromise on how to address common challenges. Let us pave the path for the younger generations and “Lead by Example.”

As a CARO member since 2013, I have watched our organization grow and evolve along with our beloved city. The organization today has representations from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds who share the common goal of wanting to enrich the local community in ways that benefit all residents, by providing information about Cambodian heritage and promoting awareness of the Cambodian culture. We recognize that everyone with various background and experiences can deliver fresh ideas and give us the opportunity to learn from each other. We encourage interactions with all interested groups and organizations to promote the cultural diversity of our residents. Our members range from young professional to seniors. Some members have just moved to town while others have lived here a lifetime.

CARO members have a desire to move forward as an organization by working on bridging the gap between generations and providing culturally diverse programs that will offer insight into religious and historical activities. With this in mind, we also intend to provide ongoing education, outreach, and a variety of services that will help to improve the lives of everyone in our great community.

It’s an exciting time for The Cambodian American Rescue Organization (CARO)! We are planning for the future. We want to rebuild the Cambodian Community Center so that our members will have a home and space for collaborative work. We are creating an organizational “roadmap” for the next several years through an extensive strategic planning effort.

To our members, sponsors, friends and family– thank you for your ongoing support and loyalty to our cause. We are optimistic for 2016 and hope that this event will bring cultures together and be the beginnings of new friendships. We also look forward to increasing our partnerships with community members, organizations and businesses so please consider joining us to make this event a success.
